Cleta Ruth's Biography
Cleta Ruth is 78 years old. She is going through a real change
in her life. Cleta Ruth never married. She has lived at home
with her widowed mother Francis who just passed away a week ago.
Now that she is on her own she has decided it is time to start a
family of her own. Better late than never. She would like to
find a man in his mid fifties.
Her sister Catherine thinks it is appalling that Cleta Ruth has
gone to such great lengths to change her appearance. (Cleta Ruth
and Catherine don't exactly get along.) Cleta Ruth is not at all
concerned with Catherine's opinions. She knows that she has to
"wrap the package pretty in order to sell the merchandise".
Cleta Ruth would like to look into one of the on-line dating
services, but she does not have a computer nor does she want to
buy one. Cleta Ruth is a little afraid of change. (She has clung
stubbornly to her old rotary dial telephone.) She frequents the
local nursing home but the men there, who all seem to be
attracted to her, just seem to be too old for her taste.
She considered putting an ad in the personal section of her
local paper, but she doesn't think that is something that a
proper woman would do. Cleta Ruth is desperate but not that
desperate.
Cleta Ruth's sister keeps telling her that she is just an old
fool whose time has passed her by. Cleta Ruth believes that as
long as she is still breathing, there is still hope.
Being from New Jersey all her life, she enjoys frequent trips to
New York City. Recently she and two of her girlfriends went to
the City for the day. While they were there, they went to
Caroline's Comedy Club and saw a Ventriloquist named Scott
Capri. Cleta Ruth thought he was a real "hottie" but she was a
little embarrassed by some of the "words" he used in his act.
Other than that, she was ready to take him home. Then she found
out that he was already happily married. Cleta Ruth was too
proper to pursue that any further.
